The African American Collaborative brings together both formal and informal African American leaders to collectively problem-solve and address challenges that no single individual or organization can tackle alone.

Hip Hop 4 Change

Hip Hop 4 Change engages youth through creative expression, education, and community involvement, using hip hop as a tool for positive social change and literacy improvement.

Future Force

Guides high school students through a four year commitment that enhance leadership, academic, social and life skills, culminating into a four-year college scholarship at Western Michigan University.

G.E.N.T.S.

Gentlemen Elevated Now Towards Success is a leadership development program designed to support and empower young men of color on their educational journey. Through a combination of mentorship, workshops, and community engagement, G.E.N.T.S helps participants develop essential skills, build confidence, and create lasting change in their communities.

Emerging Leaders

Emerging Leaders, a Southwestern Michigan Urban League initiative, aims to develop youth leaders and build a future leadership pipeline. This competitive, multi-month program offers high-potential talent the opportunity to enhance analytical and leadership skills in community advocacy and development, ensuring we cultivate exceptional leaders committed to our broader community goals.

Young Professionals

The Southwestern Michigan Young Professionals (SMYP) is an Urban League volunteer auxiliary focused on empowering young professionals aged 21-40. Through active engagement and leadership, SMYP aims to drive positive change and transform lives within their communities, all while advancing the goals of the Urban League Movement.
